METAHAVEN workshop

During this workshop I work about a serial posters. I make 6 posters. The 6th is the result of the accumulation of each one. Circle like diagram (camembert!) become a target who bring informations about construction. The meaning is not enough clear, but I talk about the typology of construction in my area but certainly also in others areas. I want to show the political point of view of administration (power) in the architecture of cities, of neibourghood… My message is  unclear.  I have to redifine it. And maybe change words. I use grey and yellow color like construction color in signaletic or something.  

• Here some variations, tests… of anothers design.

• This work is a formal research about the circle. I use Processing to do my research. I create the same circle (or two or three) and use a variable to change this form. 
• I use circle in my poster who become target sign. After each poster of the serial there is another circle more, with bringing new informations. 
• The shape become more and more complex with more and more information.
• I try to symbolise that by serial logos, more and more complex. Maybe it will ba a metaphore of the transformation of the poster/the information/esthetics…
• I don’t use it yet. I don’t know if I will do it…

Here the project of serial poster. Not finish but the principe is define. Maybe it’s too dry now, I’ll try to make it more visually powerfull. Color, typography, background, etc…

This is the first research of the next part of the workshop. I decided to focus on the idea of typology in my point of the grid and maybe to make a link with another scale that a street. I propose a serial poster, composed by 6 posters. There is a evolution between the first one and the last one, like superposition of the same informations previously. I’ll post the essential of the work tomorrow morning because, like a no-head-man, I forgot the data in the school computer..  It’s why I decided to post some new research and 2 working sketches of this project.

MetaHaven gives us some few words per person. It is a base for a graphic designers work : make posters ! My words are : DISCOURSE, RIGHTS, SYSTEM. 

With the word system, I make a link with my research about fractals and the typology of area in my street. With rights, I make a link with the name of my point : dead end of Serbia. I did also some research about the conflict with Kosovo during the second phase of the workshop. Discourse is a word that I don’t like for the moment, I find no idea about that. Anyway, each posters is a discourse !

This proposition is to develop for the next workshop maybe… One design for each type. 

This dead end could finish with a huge wall ?

During this next phase, we continue to work on the design of follie. First, I signalized the different type of contruction (ruin, wasteland, squatted, under construction and social housing) by colors. A way to separate each part. After that, I did some litteral illustration of this idea with some borders. Then, I choose to represented this strat of habitation with simuliate door. Just to make the passage more difficult but accessible in a way. The missing thing in the project is to signalized more the difference of each type, each zone in function of there quality.
